About CatSki US
In 1965, Allan Drury was working in Aspen, Colorado when he noticed that snowcats were shuttling skiers up an unfinished ski area where lifts weren’t yet running. With a vision of starting a wilderness snowcat operation, Allan moved to Calgary, Alberta to search for the perfect location.
1965In 1975, Allan’s vision of backcountry snowcat skiing in Canada became a reality when he and his wife Brenda opened Selkirk Wilderness Skiing in British Columbia. Since then, snowcat skiing has grown into a thriving backcountry skiing business with operations in Canada and the United States.
1975In 2011, with inspiration from the Canadian Helicat CA organization, a group of US cat ski operators came together to develop unified operating standards that would be implemented by members in an attempt to standardize the industry. This association was founded on a notion of cooperation rather than competition. The group sought to support, unite, and grow the industry while elevating the level of professionalism.
