Crested Butte is known as Colorado’s last great ski town. The high elevation and cold temperatures deliver an average of 500 inches of snow a year to nearby Irwin, where guests have access to approximately 1,000 acres of terrain. Irwin Guides has access to a wide variety of skiable terrain to meet everyone’s skill sets. Most of our runs begin on Scarps Ridge which offers panoramic views of the Elk Mountains with peaks towering over 13-14,000 feet. Although Irwin is only 10 miles from the town of Crested Butte, Colorado, it receives three times more snow than the town itself. At a high average of snowfall per year of low-density and high quality, dry, cold smoke powder – you will be skiing some of the best runs of your life. During the winter season be sure to check out our Snow Report for live forecasts and snow data.
